Who is behind GatheredCards

GatheredCards is built and run in the United Kingdom by a team that has looked after customers since 2018, taking orders, delivering them and answering every message along the way.

The team’s backgrounds are in engineering, programming and environmental consulting for large organisations, so GatheredCards is run the way the team was trained to work: with safety and reliability first.

We made GatheredCards so the person organising the card is not left chasing signatures, and the person leaving actually hears from everyone, wherever they work.

How we look after you

Payments are protected

  • Every payment is processed by Stripe, with 3D Secure and fraud screening on every transaction.
  • Card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our servers.
  • Suspicious payments are blocked automatically.

Gift collections are safeguarded

  • A gift pot can only be opened on a paid card.
  • Collected money is never paid out as cash. It only ever becomes a gift card that the recipient chooses, issued through an established gift card provider.
  • Every contribution is checked before it is accepted.

Your data stays yours

  • Colleagues sign without creating an account, so we hold as little personal data as possible.
  • Cards are only reachable through their private links, and data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • We never sell or rent your data. You can ask us to access, correct or delete it at any time.

Real help when you need it

  • Questions about a card, a payment or a gift? Email hello@gatheredcards.com and a person will sort it out.
  • If something isn’t right with your card, tell us and we’ll put it right.

Our Founders

Victor has a First-class MEng in Structural Engineering and is a lifelong Software Developer, programming since childhood. He has worked in a company of every size - from global engineering consulting, to a small and fast growing University of Cambridge graduate-led tech startup, where he got to experience first hand how psychological safety is nurtured in teams and how it affects workplace productivity. In 2018, he transitioned to working remotely to grow his own startup from scratch - a global food brand, diligently overseeing its processing and production at his partner factory and delivering it to customers across the UK, USA and all over the EU. During this time, he leaned on his customer service skills to manage the production and the highly complex and demanding legislative process of food processing, QA QC, transportation, import and distribution across the globe, to ensure an excellent product and service, rated highly by thousands of customers. Working with a remote team and managing employees and partners abroad and all over the UK for nearly a decade has made Victor experience first-hand the importance of remote tools, such as group cards platforms, in helping nurture relationships miles apart, which eventually gave birth to the GatheredCards platform. At GatheredCards, Victor is responsible for overseeing the technical side of the platform.

Julia has a BSc in Environmental Geography from UCL and has been working as an Environmental Scientist across the Oil and Gas and government sectors in the UK and globally, in companies of all sizes. During this time, she has observed and learnt how to nurture her own relationships with colleagues separated by distance and cultures remotely, from getting to know colleagues across the UK without ever having met them in person, to developing friendships remotely and working with colleagues across several continents, well before remote work became popular. In 2018, she joined Victor in growing the brand, bridging the gap across partners and employees in several countries, mostly remotely, and in this way, transitioned to working remotely full-time herself. She is now honing her knowledge of relationship building in the workplace in a hybrid and remote work setting to bring teams across the globe closer together. Julia is responsible for overseeing the UI UX development.
